This was a wonderful story of an older woman and man. Cassandra has been hired to be General Manager of the ranch. She is eminently qualified as she has been manager at many hotels around the world. She comes to the ranch heartbroken because of the betrayal by her former fiance. She is using this position as a stopgap to her next job. She doesn’t expect to meet Jeb, but they do become an item. I love the energy between these characters. There is definitely a HEA, but the way there is not always clear. I give this 4 stars.

*3.5 stars* When only a cowboy will do…. “This was the kissing she’d waited for all her life.” Cassandra Carter is city girl through and through but can’t resist the lure of a short-term assignment on a guest-taking ranch. She knew hotel management so the where didn’t really matter as she eagerly looked forward to a complete change of pace. And a cowboy or two… Jeb Lyon was more than a cowboy though. He was a real cowboy who loved the land and his family with everything he had in his ruggedly handsome frame. They are opposites in every way except for their need for love, and apparently each other! Anytime there is a cowboy I’m immediately interested and Jeb is one of those salt-of-the-earth types that I picture as solid, honest and old-fashioned in only the best of ways. He is straight-forward, clear about his intentions and probably doesn’t even have the word drama in his vocabulary. I can’t be the only one who finds that irresistible! Dubbed Candy, Cassandra puts on a new wardrobe and a new take on life as the simple things, and Jeb, have her rethinking what she really wants out of life. I enjoyed the story though I think I was constantly distracted by the conflicting messages about Candy. At times she was portrayed as middle-aged and others as if she was a few years into a good career. I don’t know why but it bothered me so much but for some reason it did. Perhaps because it made her choices and actions not quite ‘fit’ at times? Regardless, together these two certainly had chemistry and while the story didn’t break any new ground, the writing style and the heat between the city girl and the rancher will have me coming back for more. Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

From the very beginning, this book took off at a fast pace and continued to move rapidly until the of the book. I could not put the book down and ended up reading it in two sessions. I wouldn't have stopped when I did, but I had to go back to work. The book ended to fast to suit me. I cannot wait to read the continuing saga; I saw listed in the back of the book. The City Girls Choice is a must read, and you will be glad you purchased and read this book. Happy reading!

This was a story that got you as soon as you started reading it and you never wanted it to end. Jeb and Candy are a mature couple. Jeb owns a ranch and Candy is hired by his son to be the general manager. Their courtship does not take long to get under way and the book just gets better and better. Jeb is such a caring man in everything he does for Candy. The book had spankings, a lot of dialogue, and some really funny moments. Wish it had been longer and can't wait for the next one! 5 stars!

This was a delightfully sweet story of a mature, heartbroken woman and a an older cowboy who owns the ranch where Candy has come to work. The dialogue is witty and the attraction grows into a relationship with spanking and romance. It nice to read about mature characters instead of 20 something kids.

I enjoyed this sweet and mildly spicy story. Cassandra Carter has a reputation and knack for making the hospitality business run smoothly, efficiently, and cost effective. After a nasty breakup with cheating fiancé Tyler, and having a break between hotels, she agrees to accept Matt Lyon’s offer to come and help them at Rose Ranch until she returns to Chicago in November for her next assignment. What she hadn’t counted on, was the patriarch of the ranch, Jeb Lyon, who insist upon calling her Candy. The plot kept me captivated with delightful characters and dialog. The May-December romance between Jeb and Candy is heartwarming, and sometimes bottom warming too. This story has multiple, well-earned spankings, and only mild references to sexual encounters.

This book is a very cute short story. I loved that the two main characters, Cassandra (Candy) and Jeb, are both mature with a life full of experience. The author does a great job of developing both of these characters and placing them in situations that show how people are able to merge their unique experiences into a solid and loving relationship. I do wish that the story was a little longer so that the author was able to provide more interaction between the two main characters and the other secondary characters – but I’m thinking that these two will pop up in coming books – which I will definitely being reading.
