Great story! Elizabeth is drawn into a smuggling ring by her infatuation with the leader, William. He wants to protect her from that part of his life especially since he is about to retire. Lots of sneaking around and lying to authorities.
There were surprises at every turn here in this book! I absolutely LOVED the characters: starting with Aunt Judith!! She was a feisty older lady that was so totally into her little smuggling "adventure", that she just made me laugh! Then there was our hero, Mr. alpha male himself, William! He was sweet and dangerous, loving and stern, in other words...perfect!! Then as Elizabeth enters their little world of intrigue and smuggling, we find that the sparks start to fly in lots of different directions! This one caught my interest from the get go and never let up!!
I enjoyed this story with mystery, suspense, smugglers, danger, and romance. When Elizabeth Thornton goes to live with her Aunt Judith after the fatal accident of her parents, she is warned to ignore noises she may hear in the night, but as they say, curiosity killed the cat. She encounters her Aunt with William and the smugglers. William and Elizabeth butt heads at first, but then the passion takes over. Elizabeth has to play up to Captain Albury, who is after William and the smugglers, hoping to gain information to keep them safe. Not only is she in the middle of this dangerous cat and mouse game to keep William and his crew safe, but her Aunt and herself are also in jeopardy. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning with smugglers, secrets, double spies, traitors, romance and sizzling sex scenes.
An excellent book, full of adventure and hot romance, Smuggler's Bounty is a page turner. The book is well written and brings the characters and the fairy tale setting to life. I loved William's character and his relationships with Judith and his men. Two peas in a pod, Elizabeth and Judith are both heroines you just have to love. The developing romance between William and Elizabeth is sweet and highly erotic. The rest of the plot is a perfect mix of intrigue, danger and treachery. I loved it!
An entertaining read. It was love at first sight for Elizabeth and William though William sent quite a few mixed messages to poor Elizabeth at the beginning taking it upon himself to discipline her and more besides. There are plenty of adventures and danger before they get their happy ever after.
Elizabeth moves in with her aunt after losing her parents. The plot is excellent and well written with danger, romance, smugglers, suspense, spanking, passion, evil men and wonderful descriptions of scenery. This was an amazing story.
