Overall I liked this book. I found it very easy to read, and given that I haven't read any of the other books in the series I had no problems at all understanding what was going on. Even though I enjoyed it, I did find the heroine quite annoying and childish at times. How the hero managed to put up with her for so long astounded me! In the end, I put aside my annoyances and just read it for what it was - a quick, easy read that didn't need me or want me to think too much and ultimately delivered a happy ending.

I love Caroline and her last romp before she marries. Alexander loves her enough to let have it but when she goes too far he spanks. This story is well written and the characters are vivid. It flows well and is very fast and fun to read. I highly recommend it.

Lady Caroline is a young woman about to be engaged. Her brother has recently married Caroline's wild, best friend, Amelia. Amelia is often in trouble with her husband which results in her being spanked. Caroline sometimes finds herself following Amelia into trouble. When Lady Caroline's love, Lord Ravens, pressures her to announce their betrothal, she begs him to allow her to go to London for the "short season". She loves the parties, the gowns the excitement, and the male attentions of such occasions. Since Caroline has always been so appropriate and mannered, Lord Ravens agrees and let's Caroline know he will also be in attendance at some of the events. Caroline looks forward to six more weeks of the marriage market. However, as soon as Caroline arrives in London, she finds herself in as much trouble as Amelia ever did. At first Lord Ravens is patient but firm, but she soon finds herself over his knee. As the troubles and spankings increase, Lord Ravens questions whether his betrothed is the proper, obedient woman he believes her to be. Will they come to terms about their future, or decide not to marry? This book, is lighthearted and fun with lots of well earned spankings. The author does a wonderful job in answering the question regarding, is what you give up in order to marry, worth what you receive.

Another book in the Chase Abbey series, this time about Lord Barrington's sister Caroline and Lord Ravens. Caroline has been a prim and proper young woman all her life and never broke any rules but now she wants to live it up and have some fun before she gets engaged. This was a fun book with romance, spanking and wonderful development of the characters and is a page turner. This was a delightful read.

This book is the third in the series and is very true to the previous two books. If you’ve enjoyed the previous books in this series, you will enjoy this one as well. I would recommend that prior to reading this book, you read the previous books in the series as this book uses events that occurred in the previous books to be the basis for some events in this book. The author has a talent for developing complex and interesting characters and Caroline and Alexander are not an exception. I also love how the author uses her secondary characters to play off her main characters. Very interesting book.

A wonderful addition to the series but stands alone quite nicely. It's written very well with a plot that will keep you turning the pages! I look forward to the next in the series.

Book three in the Chase Abbey series did not disappoint. Barrington’s sister, Caroline Duncan and Lord Alexander Ravens have been skirting around commitment, but she wants a few more weeks of single independence at one last short season before a public declaration. Sometimes giving that much free reign can have dire consequences and their relationship and commitment may be tested when Caroline, a rule follower because a rule breaker one time too many. The story has numerous spankings where Alexander’s message to her is to be careful, diligent and obedient because he loves her. The plot kept me captivated with mystery and suspense, a sweet love story with angst and correction. The cast of characters is well developed with great interaction. The chemistry between Caroline and Alexander is evident, but her new found freedom and antics of “girls want to have fun” crosses the line of trust and obedience. Just know, that men in love, spank. The story has multiple spanking scenes and no sex. I look forward to more books in this series. Will we see Nathaniel next?

Delightfully Defiant Alyssa Bailey has written another beautiful period piece. This is the third book in The Chase Abbey Series and it does not disappoint. Caroline and Lord Ravens are made for each other but she wants to experience what it might be like living a little on the edge like her sister in law Amelia before she and the love of her life settle down. This is very out of character for Caroline but at first Lord Raven's does not think it will do any harm until her safety becomes an issue. I cannot wait for the next one in this series and I highly recommend this book.

I adored Caroline's story of defiance. The book is so beautifully written and the language reads like poetry. The tale is funny, witty and amusing. I loved the Phaeton ride! I just wish I knew what Lord Ravens had in store for his bride on their wedding night!
