I found this to be a fascinating sci-fi story of the galaxy of Lystra where men ruled and women submitted, it has been that way for hundreds of years. Sparrow of Amaya has run away from her master, Lark, and she is being hunted by huntsmen like Atlas. The plot is captivating, a unique world that has all women as slaves and owned. Sparrow is a fighter and you can’t help but cheer her on. Atlas is doing his job, and in the end, is really trying to help her. This is an erotic based tale with explicit sex scenes, master/slave relationships and even abuse.
Sparrow is a slave on the run. She is in a galaxy where women are owned. Atlas is a huntsman. He is tired of this life and this is his last job before he retires. He is in a bad place. He needs to return her or he will be hunted down and killed. They spend time together and find they care for one another. But, Lark comes for her himself and takes her back. There is a HEA for now, but there is a lot of abuse in this book. Sparrow is not happy to be Lark’s slave. And, we are led to believe that most women are not happy with their lives. I am looking forward to the next book. I hope it will be more about Sparrow and Atlas and maybe changing the galaxy. I give this 4 stars.
There are a lot of hot explicit sex scenes and not much for actual spanking scenes. They do gloss over the fact that she is beaten by her master by mentioning it and referring to bruises but the author doesn't actually show any of those beating scenes at all. There was some degree of "whip lash" as Sparrow's emotions seem to run pretty hot and to the surface. One moment she's having hope, then she doesn't, and then again complains that she did start getting hope. I feel she can't make up her mind on that account. I can understand though her confusion as far as whether to trust Atlas or not. After all, everything she's heard about him and not knowing much from personal experience does cripple the trust factor a lot. But it does get a little annoying how she goes from wanting help to escape to not wanting to go with him when it's time. That got me scratching my head. It was also harder to see how an unwavering love could have developed so strongly and quickly from essentially one night together. There was no build up of those feelings, they just happened. The last part that was confusing was Sparrow's apparent ignorance to the fact that her master was the boss to the entire Slave Huntsman syndicate. Yet, many scenes later Sparrow is playing the dutiful slave on his arm to many of the functions needed to be this Boss...so how did she not know?? Lot's of juicy, and I mean JUICY sex, but not much in the way of story development and plot.
This is a fast paced story of Atlas and a runaway slave Sparrow. Although she begs the huntsman to release her and not send her back to her master, Lark, Atlas must return her. He does however begin to develop feelings for her on their journey. This is one I would definitely recommend!!
This was a fast-paced story of the love that develops between a run away slave and the huntsman who is sent to return her to her master. It seemed to move so quickly that there could have more story to tell. I did like it though, and will read future books in the series.
It was a good easy read. Enjoyable. However, the story started dragging a little towards the end, stretching things out without adding anything new to the story.
Fleeing an extremely abusive Master we find Sparrow on the run in the beginning of this erotic out of this world adventure. Atlas is the bounty hunter hired to find and apprehend Sparrow, but ends up having his heart captured in the process. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two characters fight each other as to whether or not Atlas would be successful in brining Sparrow to heel and back to her Master, but also the fight the instant attraction they felt for each other. Sparrow is a strong woman despite all the abuse and mistreatment she has endured under her Masters hand, but her feisty attitude lands her over Atlas’s knee more than a few times throughout the book. I especially loved Atlas he’s an unmovable Huntsmen intent on completing this last hunt before retiring from the Hunt for good. He’s such a realistic hero in that he can recognize his mistakes and learns from them pretty early on, but instead of just rushing waits and plans before making his next move. The spankings in this one were HOT although there were a few intense ones from Sparrow’s master as well. Let me just say that Atlas knows how to wield a belt and a birch! The sexual scenes were off the charts and will leave you looking for a way to cool yourself back down.
Wow! I loved this book for multiple reasons. Creative fast paced story line, graphic descriptions of sizzling sex, and love. The characters were unique. I am excited to see what happens to the next.
Review What a fantastic book this was. At times it had my heart pumping loudly as I was so into the intense story following the twists and turns with more ups and downs than an elevator. Be warned, some of the story is dark with abuse of women on a planet where women have no rights and are slaves. But there is light at the end of the tunnel and a HEA. The deep feelings and emotions of the main characters, Sparrow and Atlas, are explored and examined. If you are offended by the non consensual aspects then don't buy this book, however it is extremely well written and I loved it.
This is a well written and well described book with some extremely hot scenes. The characters, scenery and world are very vivid. The reader is drawn into the world of Sparrow and her flight for freedom from a cruel and evil master. I did not like this book. I found it too long and unreal. It did not hang together for me. It was all too forced.
Sparrow is a slave running from her cruel master. She tries to get away but during that time a woman traveling alone called for a lot of attention. Her master hires a few hunters to find her, including the best one Atlas. He captured her but their connection is very intense and they end up falling in love. This is a love story of Sparrow and Atlas, slave and huntsman. It was interesting to see them both changing so much in order to be together. This is the first book of a series and I am looking forward to reading the next one.
A very promising start to a new series! Did I mention the steam factor?! Smoking HOT sci-fi with characters strong enough to pull you in and not let go. My heart broke for Sparrow on several occasions but I really admired her strength. Atlas couldn't be any more Alpha if he tried, yes he struggled with his heart's desire but he figured out his path to happiness. Their journey together is enough to melt your Kindle, seriously. I am looking forward to book two!!
