Good bedtime reading on 01/28/2016 12:41am
This is a great book to start off a new series. Set in the future in a supposedly ideal world that is better than a post-war Earth. The heroine goes through many trails brought about by her innocence. She is subjected and looked after an Alpha male who dominates her body but not her mind. She finally escapes the compound with a friend only to regret leaving friends behind. I enjoyed reading this futuristic romance and look forward to the following adventures.

Great book. Totally twisty and exciting. Full of secrets to the end. Lives are threatened and women are treated as temporary possessions to be passed on, love is not allowed. There are no family values in this new men dominated world. Will this sick depraved system continue to rule, even when a few fall in love? How will they escape? Escaping is the foremost thought in the h's mind. And none of the women share this with the men, do they survive to love and be free? Follow the twists and turns and find out. I assure you it is a book worth reading.

This is a great new author that I am excited to find. I was really concerned when I first started reading about lack of scene description but in the end it became my favorite part of this book. My imagination supplied the detail and I never once skipped over text because I got bored with the descriptions. Ms Lynn does an excellent job of weaving a story that I could not imagine would ever come to a happy conclusion but does. This is a true novel that I will not waste time here describing because the book description does it for me. This is not a “spanking” novel but please don’t let that stop you even if it is your kink. My advice is to get something to drink, curl up on the couch and join Calliope on her adventure. Yes there will be times you want to yell at her and or Amerrande but if you are like me you will not be able to put the book down!

I loved this sci-fi story. I couldn't put it down. We were given such a good description of what life was like for these girls and also Calliope's emotions, her real fears and doubts as well as her love for Amerrande. Calliope and Amerrande were hot for each other. The suspense and fears came from Calliope not knowing if she could confide in Amerrande as he gave her the picture of being the perfect New Society soldier and the consequences for not towing the New Society's line was dire. It was realistic even if it had a fairytale ending which was great. I would definitely read more from this author. I loved it. The only way it could have been better was if there had been a few more DD scenes in it.

I enjoyed this book. I have to say it started a little slow for me but once it got going it never stopped. The book has only one brief episode of discipline and the steam is mild. The end of the book, on the new planet, was my favorite part and I am looking forward to book two.

This was the first book I've read by Sheri Lynn and I was thrilled to find it was very well written. The characters felt real as did the settings involved in the story. Calliope is a woman of the New Society in which women are objects with no rights.  She has one goal; escape to Earth where women of the rebellion are free to make their own choices.  Unplanned events lead her to be assigned to Amerrande, a handsome soldier of the New Society.  Although she falls in love with Amerrande, she must leave him to live as a free woman.  The author kept me completely in touch with Calliope's ongoing inner conflict, as well as the emotional conflict of the other characters.  This book was fast paced, although somehow slow enough to fully develop many characters that I felt I knew.  The plot took me on an emotional rollercoaster that twisted and turned throughout the story.  With no way to predict what would happen next, I didn't want to stop reading.  I loved this book and I'm looking forward to more from this author.

4 ½ stars Great futuristic story about a society that doesn’t want women to be anything more than companions. Calliope is sent to a warrior planet be a companion. She never finished all of her training or understood what was required of her, because she was shielded by a physician there. Calliope has to grow up a bit . Sometimes Calliope’s conclusions are not logical, but then she is 20 something with little experience. Amerrande is a warrior that never takes a companion, but when Calliope arrives say he requested her, he likes what he sees and takes her home. Assignments are for three months…so falling in love is forbidden. It was a fun journey with twists and turns. It had a happy ending. There were some steamy sexual scenes. There really were no DD scenes. Well there was one that was quick and over. It was a fun read and kept you interested until the end. There were times when I screamed…stop acting like a baby and communicate with him….but it all worked out.

I was pulled into this story from the very first page and did not want to put it down to sleep. I fell in love with the setting of this story, our heroine’s plight, and most of all, our heroine, Calliope. Although she was created to be nothing more than a servant or companion to entertain her assigned soldier’s every whim Calliope has spunk and an insatiable thirst for knowledge catching Amerrande by surprise. He finds himself fighting his own feelings tooth and nail as he starts to fall for someone who defies protocol and which protocol demands he never have feelings for in the first place. The twists and turns of this story along with the incredible tension between the two main characters make you never want to put this book down. This is very much a five star book and will be going on my favorite’s list. My one complaint is that as a spanking romance there weren’t very many spankings in it. There’s one very small spanking in it and then another brief reference. I would not consider it a spanking novel. Although please don’t let that dissuade you from reading this book. I really enjoyed it and cannot wait for the next installment in this series.
