Leah prided herself on being the master when it came to playing April Fools' pranks on people. Everyone that she loved or worked with was subjected to her special brand of humor on what she considered "her" day. It was an April Fools' prank on her husband, David, before they were married that earned her her first spanking from him and cemented their domestic discipline lifestyle.

But, when someone other than her started replaying her practical jokes on people, Leah couldn't figure out what was happening. Everyone should know that she never repeated the same prank twice!

But when the pranks continued and everyone was blaming her, Leah was afraid that David would never believe her. Her only hope lie in finding out who was doing this and trying to get HER in trouble before her husband came home.

Publisher's Note: "Innocent" is a light-hearted domestic discipline novella, featuring the spanking of adult women.

Chapter One

Leah’s blue eyes widened in dismay. There was no way on earth that David wasn’t going to blame her, and she was totally innocent. The look of disgust on her brother-in-law’s face gave her to know that he couldn’t wait to tattle. “It wasn’t me, Kevin; I swear it wasn’t!”

“Just like it wasn’t you the other time it happened? I would have expected you to come up with a new prank, Leah, instead of using an old one.”

“If I’d wanted to trick you, Kevin, I would have come up with something new, but you know as well as I do that David forbade me to pull any more April Fool’s pranks.”

“Too bad you didn’t listen to him, Leah. He’s going to blister your ass good for this.”

“But, Kevin, I did not do this,” she insisted, trying to make him believe her, but it was easy to see that he wasn’t buying.

“You’d better enjoy sitting while you can, little sister. This painting was worth a lot of money, and I’m going to insist that David foot the bill, and I hope he takes every dollar out of your hide.”

Leah’s mind went back in time to the day she DID pull this same stunt on her brother-in-law:

She had carefully rigged a box to spew forth a smelly mixture that was not only disgusting in odor, but the texture was gooey and hard to clean, and it was saturated with food coloring that wouldn’t wash off. That time she’d underestimated the power behind the blast of goo, and not only did it ruin a brand new suit of Kevin’s, but it ruined a pastel watercolor that he’d just sold and had in his office at the gallery to wrap and send to the new owner. It cost David a lot of money to fix the mess, and Kevin would barely speak to her for the next year - until she finally lost her temper and told him she’d been punished enough for what was supposed to be a funny prank!

Kevin wanted to know how she was punished and she’d been forced to admit that her new husband believed in spanking. Kevin seemed to be delighted, and he couldn’t wait to confront David and ask if she was telling the truth. David leveled his dark eyes on her and then nodded as he said, “I spanked her bare fanny until it was even redder than the dye she used.”

“I didn’t believe you had it in you, little brother. You have no idea how difficult it was for me not to insist you put her over your knee and put your hand to her backside.”

Yes, the spanking earned his forgiveness, and while Kevin found it amusing, Leah did not. It was a terrible punishment. David picked her up at the gallery and saw the damage for himself, and he paled when he learned how much money he was going to need to repay his brother for his new suit and for the watercolor that Leah ruined with the prank.

David drove her home in complete silence, and when she did try to apologize and explain that the prank wasn’t supposed to ruin a painting, David gave her a look that warned her to shut up. He marched her inside their apartment and put her over the back of their sofa and then he pulled her jeans and panties down and off, leaving her nude from the waist down. “You stay right here with your butt exposed and think about how we are going to come up with the money we owe Kevin. Your practical jokes have earned you a spanking you will never forget, young lady.” He gave her one stinging handprint on her right cheek and then walked away to leave her lying there, waiting for him to finish what he started. Her feet couldn’t reach the floor, and her hands were flat on the seat of the sofa and if she even tried to reach back to rub the stinging red handprint, she would fall on her head. She was trapped, and her helplessness made her feel small.

Leah didn’t know how long she waited for David to return, but it seemed like hours. She figured he was probably trying to control his temper, but his first words dispelled that notion. “It is going to take us six months to repay Kevin, and in the meantime, we won’t have any money to put in our savings account toward a down payment on a house. We will be cutting our food budget in half, and there won’t be any shopping for anything that is not an absolute necessity. As it is, I’m going to have to work overtime to keep up with the payments for your schooling. Why in hell would you do something like this to us, Leah? Does this prank seem funny now?”

“No, it doesn’t, honey, and I am very sorry.” She meant the words, but he wasn’t satisfied.

“I don’t believe you, Leah Renee Crocker Crawford. I think you are only sorry that you are going to get a sound spanking.”

“I don’t want a spanking, David. It hurts too much when you do that. The last time I couldn’t sit without hurting for a couple of days!”

“Yes, but you haven’t skipped any more classes since then, have you?”

“No, and I promise you I won’t do it again. I just couldn’t bear the thought of sitting inside that day. I wanted to enjoy the day in the park.”

“And was the price worth your day of goofing off and avoiding your responsibilities?”

“We skimp in order for you to go to school, Leah. I promised your Dad that if he allowed you to get married I would see to it you went to school, and that means going to class and not playing hooky.”

“I promised I wouldn’t do it again, honey,” she reminded him. “Please don’t scold me again. I need your forgiveness.”

“You are forgiven for that, Leah, and that is not why you are getting this spanking. I’ve warned you several times that your practical jokes are not funny, and yet, you kept right on. My God, Leah! Kevin works in a fancy, high-priced art gallery! Why in hell would you send him a rigged package there? Didn’t you once consider that the goo could get all over an expensive painting? Didn’t you once consider that my brother could lose his job or his credibility with the buyer?”

“No, I didn’t think of those things or I wouldn’t have done it, David. I am sick to think of putting Kevin in an untenable position with the gallery’s owner. I will apologize to her if Kevin thinks it will help, and I will also apologize to the buyer. I want to do whatever I can to make it right. Please don’t spank me! I know how stupid the prank was, and I won’t do anything like that ever again!”

“No, you won’t. I’m going to give you a reason not to.” And then the spanking began. David raised his hand and spanked his wiggling target over and over and over until Leah was sobbing and begging him to stop.

“Please, honey, I can’t take anymore! I’m in pain.”

“It is good that you are in pain. Maybe you will recall this lesson the next time you are tempted to play an April Fool’s prank on someone.”

“I will remember; I promise! Please stop now,” she begged. David helped her off the back of the sofa and instructed her to go and sit at the kitchen table.

“I can’t sit, David,” she argued, trying to sound pitiful.

“You can and will sit and you will do it right now.” He swatted her once more and Leah cried out in pain. “Are you going to do as you were told, or do I need to persuade you?” His hard hand found her flaming fanny once more and Leah hurried to get to the kitchen as fast as possible. “Sit down now, Leah. I guarantee we are far from done with this lesson.” He left the kitchen, but when he returned he was carrying a yellow legal pad and two ink pens. He clicked one of the pens and then wrote across the top of the page. “You will write this line once for each dollar that you wasted with your prank.”

Leah’s blue eyes widened as she realized she would be sitting on the chair all night long. “Start writing, Leah.” Leah wrote and wrote, and she cried and cried, and she squirmed and squirmed on the hard seat of the chair. She couldn’t get comfortable, and even though she really needed to go to the bathroom, David refused to grant her requests until she wrote that promise not to ever pull any more practical jokes on her brother-in-law the exact number of times. When she finally finished, it was five o’clock in the morning and she had just enough time to shower and put on her scrubs and get to the hospital for her clinical rotation.

And now, someone else had played the same April Fool’s prank on Kevin, and he was blaming her! Leah wanted to cry, but she held back her tears, knowing full well they would be wasted on her brother-in-law. As firm as David was with her, Kevin’s wife Angela was also a spanked wife, and Kevin spanked her often. If one little thing was not done to his satisfaction, Angela’s bottom suffered his displeasure. Leah tried not to think about that as she looked at the angry man.

“Kevin, I didn’t do this,” she insisted.

“Right,” he said sarcastically.

“I am telling you the truth! I’m innocent; I gave David my word to never do this again, and I keep my word.”

“As long as he is in town, but he’s traveling now,” Kevin said. “You might as well go on home, young lady. As much as I would like to put you over my desk for a good paddling, you are my brother’s wife and it isn’t my place. Get on with you.”

“But, I haven’t done the work you wanted me to do for you,” she reminded him. She often stained frames to customers’ specifications. Kevin paid her well and he didn’t care what hours she worked as long as she finished by a certain time. It was one small way Leah could help her husband with the finances, even though she made good wages as a nurse.

“I am too upset to have you around right now, Leah. Please leave before I lose my temper and punish you as you deserve.”

Leah left, feeling brokenhearted. She wanted to call David, but she certainly didn’t want to interrupt him during his presentation. Leah had heard stories of other men who worked for the company, and how upset their boss was when their wives called. She knew better than call him unless it was a real emergency. David would call her that evening and then she could tell him about the prank and hope that he believed that she was innocent.

As she was walking to the bus stop Leah’s cell phone rang and to her surprise it was David calling. She answered, anxious to tell him what happened, but before she could say anything, he started scolding her. “You are in so much trouble, little girl! I am going to punish you when I get home, and I do not want to hear even one word out of you. You’d better do some serious thinking. I’ve asked you not to pull April Fool’s tricks on Kevin, and the first thing you did after putting me on the plane this morning was to pull another expensive prank on Kevin. I ought to invite him to our house so he can witness your spanking!”

“Please listen to me, David. I didn’t do it,” she insisted, but she got a sharp signal telling her the call was disconnected.

Her redhead’s temper suddenly flared and Leah stomped her foot and said a four letter word that would have earned her an instant spanking if David was standing right here with her. She was mad as hell, and she didn’t care what anyone thought of the way she was behaving! She started to her call her best friend, but decided to simply go and see her instead. Leah needed sympathy, and she wanted something sinful, like chocolate caramel pecan brownies and a big glass of milk, and not the healthy kind. She made her way to the bus stop, and then got off in Dawn’s neighborhood. She went to the bakery that Dawn loved, and bought an assortment of treats, and a half gallon of organic whole milk. The treat would be so good, and Leah needed comforting. She walked several blocks to Dawn’s apartment and then realized that she should have called. Dawn worked out of her home, but that didn’t mean that she was always home.

She leaned on the bell beside Dawn’s name, and she heard her friend’s voice, “Yes?”

“It’s me! I have brownies and need a shoulder to cry on.”

There was a pause and then Dawn said, “Come on up.” The buzzer sounded, and the lock on the heavy door clicked, allowing her to push the door open. She hated climbing all the steps to Dawn’s third floor apartment, but if that made it safer for Dawn to live on her own, then Leah would climb all the steps without complaint. She and Dawn had a friend who was attacked, and it made them even more aware that they needed to be mindful of their surroundings.

“Hey, girl!”

“I’m surprised to see you,” Dawn said, and the words sounded gruff; not at all like the way her friend normally talked to her.

“If you are working, I can leave,” Leah offered as she stepped inside the apartment so that Dawn could shut the door.

“Yes, I am working, cleaning up the mess!” Dawn had her hands on her hips and it was easy to see she was angry.

“What mess?” Leah asked innocently.

“Oh, don’t you dare play the innocent with me, Leah Crawford! Once in the dorm wasn’t funny, but to do it again in my apartment! I will be cleaning up rice for weeks.”

“What are you talking about, hon? I didn’t prank you,” Leah told her.

“Don’t lie to me, sister. This is the same trick you pulled on me during our freshman year of college. It was rotten then, and it’s even worse now!”

“Dawn, I swear I didn’t do this.” Leah looked around the open concept room, and could see that there was indeed rice everywhere. “I didn’t do this.”

“Do you honestly expect me to believe you, Leah? I think you’d best go on home. I’m too angry to make nice right now.”

“I need your help in figuring out who is doing this to me! Whoever it is pranked Kevin this morning, and David is mad at me.”

“Tell him to give you a few whacks from me,” Dawn replied.

Dawn didn’t believe in spanking, and thought it was terrible that Leah had agreed to a domestic discipline lifestyle. To have her say that she wanted David to give her whacks for her, told Leah how angry she was! Leah’s feelings were hurt. She picked up her packages and headed for the door. “I would believe you if you told me you didn’t do something!”

Leah walked back to a main street and flagged down a taxi. Unfortunately, the driver wanted to talk. “My wife got me good this morning! She cut the toes out of all my socks and when I put them on, my feet went right through where the toes should be. I thought my boys did it,” he admitted, changing lanes so quickly that Leah was tossed to the other side of the car. “Then I went to the drawer to get another pair. I sat down on the bed, and the same dang thing happened. Every last pair of my socks was done the same way. I decided that someone was in for a sore bum. Both boys denied doing the prank, so I said I was going to tan both of them then. My wife came to see why no one was at the breakfast table, and I told her that the boys pranked me and it wasn’t funny. Her little face got all red and she sent the boys to the table. Then she shook a finger at me and said that it was funny, and she took a bag out of our closet and threw it at me. It was brand new socks. I knew then who pulled that prank. I finished dressing, and went out to breakfast. I told my boys I was sorry for blaming them, and they brushed it off and went on to school like nothing happened. My Helen tried to be all innocent, but once I knew the boys were on their way, I went and took her by the arm and led her to the bedroom and I bent her over my knee. She fussed and fussed but I did give her a little spanking.”

The driver laughed and Leah looked at him in the rearview mirror. “If your wife told you she didn’t play a prank on someone, would you believe her?”

“Sure. We’ve been married eleven years and this was the first prank she’s played on me. I think she wants a little playfulness in our bedroom, if you know what I mean. So what’s happened? Did you pull a prank and now you wish you didn’t?”

“No! I honestly didn’t do it, and I’m being blamed. I don’t know who is doing these things. I would never do the same trick again! It’s just wrong. My husband is so angry with me right now,” she admitted as he pulled up in front of her condo building.

“It will be like with my boys; my wife stepped forward to admit she did it so I wouldn’t get on the boys. Whoever is pranking your husband will confess.”

“I hope you’re right.” She paid the driver and gave him a nice tip as well. At least one person in the city believed her.

I thought the idea of owning the prankster was great.

A cute story. Amusing, arousing, and well written.

I dislike when the lead female does nothing wrong and gets punished for it. Leah has already been punished for her pranks, yet her husband goes to great lengths to emotionally terrorize her. I think her friends and family should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Her husband should have gone to his knees and begged for forgiveness. So much for "self" discipline by the male.

It's ok.. its a short story easily read but I'm not into the pranking so much

Excellent read and makes me think twice before pulling any pranks on my Master

Really great premise. Enjoyed it very much.

I think this was supposed to be funny - all about April Fools Day pranks and all - but it wasn’t. None of the pranks are at all amusing. They’re just painful (literally for the heroine, since she gets spanked for them), and nobody seems to learn anything from things going badly. Our heroine gets punished for her pranks (probably deservedly so), but turning the pranks on her is just cruel.

I thought this was a cute story, but i didn't like the way everybody played each other.

Few novel characters made me feel more deserving a severe correction as Leah's. I only wish her spankings were more precisely described because, man, that girl is a whining spoiled brat. Well done, anyway!

Cute, funny, and enjoyed.

I thought this was going to be a run of the mill spanking episode. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a story. Woe betide anyone who meets Leah on April Fools' Day but then someone thinks that enough is enough and decides she needs a taste of her own medicine. Not a masterpiece but it passed a couple of hours.

Leas is innocent but it seems she's under fire and getting accused of all kinds of stuff. She's really upset and decides to find out who's out to get her. When she discovers the truth behind her trouble she comes up with her own prank to get even. Maybe some people should just stay in bed on April Fool's Day.

This was a good short story!
Lasey on 04/20/2014 07:47pm
This was a great novella. As a wife in a DD relationship - I felt really bad for Leah. She is going to be in so much trouble when her husband gets home-- but she didn't do anything wrong. I was pleased with the ending as it felt like the story was complete which is why I gave it 5 stars. It can be so frustrating to read shorter books and feel like I only read the first chapter of a much longer book.
Leona on 04/17/2014 11:18pm
It was funny has hell. She needs to good, not damaging pranks,, she don't get into much trouble. Differently worth reading. :)

Agreed: David was a jerk, and so were all of her so-called friends. Leah should have left him. Writing was good, story made me angry.
Jaycee on 04/14/2014 07:49pm
I expected a nice, light easy read about a prankster and her DD husband. Instead I found myself angry - David was a jerk, plain and simple. In the flashbacks, he often spanked too hard and way out of proportion to the prank. But the final one was just wrong...I won't ruin the ending, but David was the one who deserved a harsh spanking, not Leah. Like the previous reviewer, I would like to read a DD story where the man suffers some consequences for HIS mistakes.
j on 04/12/2014 08:47am
Not a power exchange. I'm getting tired of men spanking women when the man gets worried but the men suffer no consequences when they screw up. Not Ms. Maree's fault; BB's fault for sure.
