Megan desperately needs a job. When a new blender she was demonstrating at a hotel conference center catches on fire, she is unjustly fired. Megan is faced with the prospect of having to go home to her parents’ house yet once again and facing their disapproval and their insistence that she work for a relative in a hardware store or get married to some nice boy and have babies! She would have to call her father, a retired police officer, to come for her in the morning.

Megan knew she shouldn’t be drinking in the lounge of the hotel when she was all alone, but she wanted to take the edge off of the upset she was feeling. She noticed a man staring at her and she quickly gave him orders to leave her alone. To her shocked surprise he ordered her to stand up and let him look at her. Megan was ready to ask the bartender for help when the man said, “I want you!”

The look on the young woman’s pretty face told Montague that the girl misunderstood his intentions. “I’m handling this all wrong,” he explained. “I want to hire you. I am a magician and my assistant found out she is pregnant and quit on me to go home and be with her husband. I need an assistant now.” Megan found herself accepting the job, even though she was shocked when she learned that Montague’s method of getting her to concentrate was a damn good spanking!

Starts out promising, ends up annoying. Neither character was entirely likable. Both were prone to errors in judgment, which could have made them more interesting as characters, except that neither one really seemed to learn from their mistakes. The spankings and arguments got pretty repetitive, and I felt the hero was a little overly harsh. And the whole no-sex thing was irksome (he’s okay telling his family that he loves her, but then they shouldn’t have sex because ‘they don’t know how they feel about each other’?). I was also excited that the book was about a magician, but became disappointed when there really was very little detail ever given on what kind of tricks he did or how. Had some good moments, but overall, disappointing (2.5 stars).

I liked this story, but I felt like it was lacking something. I cannot put my finger on what it was. I thought the spankings were well written overall, I thought the magic aspects were new and interesting. I liked how listened to her and changed his discipline when he would realize she was truly in pain or it was unwarranted. But I just felt like maybe the connection between the characters was lacking? I spent the whole story wondering WHY she likes him WHAT she sees in him... I guess I want more inner dialogue or dialogue in general. I felt like he was quick to spank and she was quick to receive it without enough explanation. I enjoyed it though. :)

It was an enjoyable journey watching Montague go from confident magician, sure of himself and his actions, to unsure sometimes even clueless as a husband. I would like a second book to see how the couple progressed.

The plot was good. The characters were good. However, there was something about how the wording was written that made it difficult to follow, for me.

I love Amity Maree and her stories. At times I disliked Montague and thought he was harsh at times. Megan was a great character. I would love to read more about their story.

I can't remember the last time I disliked a character in a book like I did Montague He was darn right mean to Magen. AM did a good job of making them real. good book

From the start of this story, Ms. Maree carries you into the world of magic intertwined with love and spanking. Magical Mayhem instills the importance of communication, trust and love in any relationship. Of course when the communication is not so good mayhem will arise. Great story!

Very nice story about a magician who needs a new assistant and thinks he has found her. Except he didn't bargain on her having such a bad temper or such bad behavior in general. Lots of spankings which I liked and a very good plot.

I love Amity's books and this story of Montague and Megan was great. He hires her as his new assistant and they have to deal with her temper nd her overall behavior. Fun story and great characters interacting with each other.

This is a very good story with two really fun characters that definilty leaves it open for at least one sequel if not more to come. Yes there are a lot of spankings but for me thats what I like in a book so it is definilty a winner.

Another great story by amity maree there were lots of spankings and Megan certainly got her own back!! There's plenty of scope for further stories with this couple

As much as I like a lot of spankings this one went over the edge with TOO many. I did not care for this one at all. The characters did not seem to be real to me, the spankings were too harsh for the offense and the story did not come together for me.

I liked this story. The characters had some depth which made it enjoyable. I would love to read another story with Megan and Montague.
