Note:  Most of the books on Blushing Books are fiction.   "Late Bloomer" is a rare non-fiction offering, detailing the journey of one of "spankolands" most well-known actresses and personalites.  Her honesty in coming to terms with this aspect of her personality will ring true to anyone who has struggled with getting to know their "inner spanko."   Late Bloomer is a truly fascinating read.

For Erica Scott, life seemed destined to be little more than a day-to-day trial to endure and survive. Through confusing childhood and troubled teens into unhappy adulthood, depression, eating disorders and crippling lack of self-esteem were constant companions, while joy and fulfillment were elusive. Ultimately, her sense of humor, strong will and sense of the absurd prevailed. With therapy, medication and support, Erica was able to break free and blossom at last. As her confidence grew, so did her desire to finally explore a side of herself she had been stifling for years. And once she began the journey, there was no stopping her. "Late Bloomer" is the autobiography of a daughter, sister, friend, lover, author, spanko, video performer, flawed human being and resilient woman. Read about her adventures, struggles and triumphs.

This was a very well written autobiography. Erica shares her journey of discovery of who she is suppose to be. Definately a must read.

This was a wonderful, heartwarming story. It's about a shy, insecure little that grows up into a confident, intelligent, warm and secure woman. I really enjoyed it.

A wonderful account of a girl's development from a shy, guilt ridden, confused child to a confident, intelligent, articulate and very brave adult. A real role model, and a clear picture of the possibilities of becoming who you want to be despite very real difficulties.

I read Scott's blog, so I was excited when this book was announced. As soon as I started it, I spent every spare moment reading until I finished. As a memoir, Scott tells stories from her life and moves into the spanking world as well-- I found the whole book fascinating. She writes very well, clearly, and you won't be bored. I was immersed in her well-written emotions. The good news is that the story doesn't end because you can continue reading with her blog.

A very well written, inspiring and heart warming autobiography. It invokes a range of emotion as you read Erica's journey, how she overcame her troubled teens and depression, how she came to terms with her needs, and how she blossomed and found fulfilment. A great read for anyone struggling to come to terms with this lifestyle choice. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, feelings and experience, Erica.

This definitely is not the fiction I usually read but I found it really interesting. Erica laid herself open for all to see and I appreciated her feelings and insights. Since I didn't know what to expect I had no expectations going in. I did enjoy reading her life story.

This amazing book took me through a whole range of emotions-- laughter, tears, sympathy, empathy, anger, outrage, exuberance, delight. If I could give it six stars, I would! As Erica revealed her personal journey, many of her feelings and experiences, her early questions, longings and loathings will be familiar to many of us who share this particular kink. Her honest, candid, humorous approach to her own life is refreshing. From the angst of her childhood experiences, questions and family of origin to her breakthrough in embracing who she truly is, her brave voyage into self-discovery is a must-read for anyone who is still in the closet about this lifestyle choice. Thank-you, Erica Scott!!!

Late Bloomer is a wonderful, heart warming autobiographical story starring Erica Scott. The kicks off with a young, pre-teen Erica and we follow her through her teenage life and into her troubled 20s. Around her late 20s Erica makes a transformation from an awkward, shy girl into a confident, strong, experimental adult. She explores dating like never before, she explores spanking and the spanking scene and even stars in a series of films. The book is full of powerful observations, entertaining wit and inspiration. The subject matter is raw, sometimes kinky and always fascinating. An excellent read.
